How to Run Your MLM Business Online

The perfect on-line business.

The internet has created a vast sea of opportunity out there for the network marketer. In the "good ol’ days", we were limited to how far we built our business by how far we could go in our car.

Face to face communication used to be the only way to build a business. You would plan home parties and invite all your friends, families, or anybody you could convince to come over.

They might or might not come, depending on how far you lived from them and if they felt like making the effort.

Now, you can run your MLM business online - from your own home.

You can do webinars for people all over the world. Through the internet, you can reach anybody, anywhere, at anytime. Recruiting meetings, trainings, and sales calls can all be done online through these webinars, either live or pre-recorded.

We want to point out something here though. While the internet is a great tool for expanding your sales territory, the traditional way of building a network marketing business can still be very successful.

We personally know quite a few people who do business completely the traditional way and make a lot of money doing it. The key is finding your style, and how you like to do business.

The focus of this article is how to do all or at least part of your MLM business online.

In days gone by, you had to grow an MLM business face to face, doing Home meetings, lists of family and friends, telephone calls, door knocking, etc...

Although all of these things still work very well today...

Now You Have the Choice

Many people would consider a career in Network Marketing, if they had a choice in the way they built their business and knew that they could run their MLM business online.

Now, those who don’t want to rely only on their “warm market” or who may not have a large personal network of people to bring into their business, can use the internet to develop their team.

Now, you can do all of your MLM business online if you want to. You can present your company, sell your products, recruit and build your downline, and train and coach your team.

But how? Where do you start?

The ideal way would be to find an upline sponsor who already knew how to take this on, and who would coach you through the process.

People new to running an MLM business online, may become quickly overwhelmed with all that’s out there about internet marketing.

There are so many tools, systems, tactics, and strategies out there, that sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin.

Before you are tempted to buy into any of these systems that promise you internet marketing the easy, cheap way, we urge you to read through all of our articles on this subject.

Keep in mind, that if you are building an MLM business online, you’ll need a system that is duplicatable. That is, one you can teach your downline to do as well. Here are the basic steps you’ll need to undertake to establish your MLM business online.

1. A website. Most companies will provide you with a website, but this won’t be enough. Read our article Do I Need a Website?

This will explain why your company replicated website, no matter how fabulous, won’t be enough if you want to generate lots of quality traffic and leads for our business.

2. Begin to build your list. Building a list of people you have personally formed a relationship with online, is one of the most important things you can do for MLM business online.

List building is a large part of your Internet Marketing plan. Just how do you build your list? You could do it through social media marketing, blogging, article marketing, e-zines, email marketing, traffic exchanges, and other methods - click on link directly above..

3. Set up auto-responders to keep in contact with your list. If you're not sure what an auto responder is or how it works, look into Aweber or another reputable auto responder company. Aweber is a very popular company in this industry because they keep your data safe and offer excellent training.

4. Eventually, you’ll be developing relationships with people on your list. Ultimately, it is the goal to get them into your business, or sell your product or service. Marketing on the internet is not much different than working with your warm market in person - it’s all about relationships.

If done correctly and genuinely, people on your list will both trust you and listen to your recommendations. Always be honest when you recommend products or services, and never slam people into anything just to make money.

5. Get familiar with social networking. Did we mention it’s all about relationships?

Thousands of people excitedly jump into companies – try to market them online - and eventually become discouraged and give up.

Why?

It’s both simple and a little tricky. No matter what business model you’ve settled on, understanding this is critical for your success.

The Grass Is Always Greener...

Another thing we’ve seen happening more and more, is people jumping from one company to another - one opportunity to another.

People are bombarded with “great opportunities”, and "the latest and greatest" every time they go online.

When people are not successful yet, they often think that it's the fault of their company. If you've been reading our articles up to this point, you already know - it's almost never the company.

Personal growth and continuing education are the keys, not jumping from program to program...

Falling for these sales pitches is just not a good idea for several reasons. One is that new companies have no track record, so it’s a gamble. Second, some people are enticed by thoughts of something easier, and better with faster payoffs.

Again, it's not the company - it's you...

Jumping in and out of companies will be a huge detriment to your success. That’s not to say you can’t have more than one MLM business online.

Just be committed to each business you pursue, and don’t go running off in search of the “Holy Grail” of MLM business online opportunities. There are a lot of good opportunities out there, and a lot of good companies.

Take your time in finding one, or two, then stick with them. If you follow our guidelines in previous articles, your chances of picking a good company will be high.

Even if you didn't do the best job choosing your company,you can still be very successful. We’ve seen people become very successful in mediocre companies with mediocre compensation plans, just because they stuck with it!

Sometimes the temptation to jump ship comes because we really don’t admit that the problem is with us, not our company. It takes a lot of personal development and self-growth to become a successful business owner - online or otherwise!
